January 1, 2025: New Year Greeting

From the Pastor to you:

As we step into the year 2025, we are reminded of the profound nature of time. The distinction between the old and the new year is, in reality, a construct — time itself remains constant, ever-present, and infinitely precious. Life does not operate like a pendulum clock, allowing us to revisit the moments we've already experienced. Rather, it progresses in a straight line, where each passing second is irreplaceable. Time is life itself. Once a moment is gone, it cannot be reclaimed. No advancement in science or medicine can extend our earthly journey indefinitely. Each of us has been entrusted with a finite measure of time, and when that measure is complete, we will stand before God. Thus, every fragment of time matters, no matter how seemingly insignificant.

Life can be likened to a mosaic, crafted from countless small pieces of time. Each piece contributes to the beauty of the whole and deserves to be cherished. As we enter this new year, let us resolve to treasure every hour. May we give thanks for the loved ones who walk alongside us, express gratitude for our Thrive Church community, and rejoice in the gift of salvation. We also take this moment to honor and remember the beloved members of our church who have recently entered into the presence of the Lord. We are deeply grateful for their lives and service and pray that the hope of Christ’s resurrection will comfort their families. As we embrace the opportunities of 2025, let us commit ourselves anew to serving God faithfully in the roles He has entrusted to us. May this year be one marked by faithfulness, gratitude, and joy in His presence.

Grace and Peace,

Rev. Dr. Won Kim

The Lead Pastor of Thrive Church
